This large day pack is designed to be carried with a canoe – its low profile does not interfere with the yoke, and the ¾” thick shoulder straps provide extra padding. It has our “Interior Load Control Pocket” – an inside pocket that allows heavy items like a water bladder to be placed high and close to your body. This decreases stress on the shoulders and back. Our interchangeable shoulder straps come in many sizes to ensure you get a pack that fits you perfectly.

600 Denier Montana body (comparable to a lighter weight cordura)
#10 YKK zippers on lid (the best on the market)

EVA foam(high quality dense foam does not compress over time) and ether foam (soft and cushy) in shoulder straps
National Moulding buckles (toughest on the market)
Each seam is sewn twice for maximum toughness
All seams and raw edges are bound so the fabric won’t fray over time

Suspension System – Single aluminum stay
A rigid plastic framesheet / back panel with 1 aluminum stay down the centre (a flat bar that is 1”wide and 1/8”thick, that runs the length of the back panel)
Stay can be removed and bent to the shape of your back for a custom fit
S-shaped shoulder straps with chest strap (5 sizes); they are ¾”¯ thick, two layers with a dense EVA top layer that prevents the pack from digging into your shoulders
2” waist belt (padded hip belt is extra)
Fleece lined tump line (so you can carry like a voyageur)
Stabilizer straps on shoulder straps provide adjustment and pull the load closer to your back so the pack moves with you.

Bill Ostrom uses this pack on every trip. It allows him to keep raingear, snacks, water etc. handy in the canoe, and is a breeze to portage. Consider purchasing a Day Pack Padded Hip Belt for better load transfer and support.
